ABOUT Michael

I'm Michael, the founder of Skipjack Financial. My path has woven together education, psychology, and financial planning. From teaching in schools to leading development programs in nonprofit and corporate settings, I've always focused on helping people learn, grow, and realize the best version of themselves. Financial advising brings these threads together—enabling me to help people to build their best lives through purposeful decisions about money.

A Tennessee native, I live in New Orleans with my wife and two kids. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me on the pitch coaching my sons' soccer team, serving on education boards, or around a campfire at our family's cabin in Georgia.

The inspiration for Skipjack Financial

Skipjack Financial was born from a deeply personal experience. When my mother moved into memory care in 2019, my sister and I faced the daunting task of managing her finances during an already challenging time. We sought the guidance of a financial advisor, and what surprised us most wasn't the expertise they provided—it was how the experience brought us closer as a family. This showed me firsthand how financial planning, approached with empathy and understanding, creates the freedom to focus on what truly matters: time with the people we love.

our approach is rooted in the belief that your money should support the person you are and the life you want to lead

About The Name "Skipjack"

The name Skipjack Financial was inspired by a conversation I had with my son about the essence of living life to the fullest. When I asked him what he would do if he could do anything he wanted without any financial constraints, his answer was simple, yet profound: "Get a boat, and go fish for tuna."

I’m committed to helping my clients feel that same sense of possibility and freedom by empowering them to make confident, intentional decisions about their lives.
